One Beat Bloggers

My name is Jason Walters and I am the Middle School Director at Hopevale Church in Saginaw, Michigan.  I love the Green Bay Packers, disc golf, coffee, and movies so you will see me hit those themes often on here but in it all my desire is to glorify God. We have been on a crazy journey since we got married (1/1/11).  We have moved 6 times, lived in 3 different states, and we have had more than 10 different jobs between the two of us in that time.  Through all of that our passion for students remains and we want to do whatever we can to advance the next generation.  I am called to equip parents to disciple their kids. Discipleship starts at home and so I can not neglect the family in my attempts to do student ministry. Student ministry is not a babysitting service but rather is a calling to change a generation that has forgotten God. Philippians 2:15 says, “…that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst  of a crooked and twisted generation.”

My name is Alicia Walters, and I am honored to write here on OneBeatBlog.  My parents didn’t grow up in the godliest of homes but sought to raise my brothers and I in a way that would cause us to love God and independently serve Him.  Jason and I want to continue to grow the legacy our parents have instilled in us.  I have known since I was a child that God wanted me to be in some kind of full-time ministry: a calling which God continued to confirm the older I got.  I am honored to now share that role with Jason as his wife and partner in ministry in Lewisburg, PA.  My passion is three-fold: teens, intentional family relationships, and missions.  My desire is to help inspire teens and their families to grow in Christ and in return affect their corner of the world for Him.  As Philippians 3:16 says, “However, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained” (NASB).  May our lives live up to the example Christ set for us personally and in ministry.. and what better place to do so than as a part of the Bride of Christ?
